New Molecular Solutions in Research and Development for Innovative Drugs

Proteomics

Proteomics

The InnoMol Proteomics Workshop will be held from April 7-9, 2014 at the Ruđer Bošković Institute.

It is our pleasure to announce the first workshop of the EU FP7 project InnoMol.

The aim of the Proteomics Workshop is to discuss state-of-the-art approaches in proteomics that can provide us with novel information about the biochemical mechanisms that regulate the physiology of the cell.

The workshop will host prominent lecturers and provide hands-on experimental work including:

  • Fundamentals of mass spectrometry, with a focus on different separation techniques for peptides and proteins (multidimensional nano- and capillary-liquid chromatography/1-D and 2-D SDS-PAGE)
  • Cell lysate handling (sample homogenization) and protein/peptide enrichment strategies
  • Peptide and protein analysis by MALDI-TOF/TOF and ESI-Q-TOF
  • Bioinformatics data-analysis, followed by database searches, de novo sequencing and high-throughput data processing.

Further details are available in the Scientific Overview.

There will be no registration fee for the attendees. The workshop is primarily intended for Postdoctoral Researchers and PhD students. Nevertheless, other participants are welcome. The official language of the Workshop is English.
